RE: any HVAC guys out there?

thanks for suggestions. as far as insulation and such, house has avg insulation. when i moved in, there were no windows in back wall and room was as comfortable as rest of house. i had back wall knocked out and all windows and patio doors and a 24x16 deck built, so they are all thermopane windows. this is when room got colder. this is also the door i have to let my dog in and out of, so that lets a lot of air in. so i guess unless i get poorer, i agree to heat part of the great outdoors, just hopin to do it a little cheaper. if im going to have moisture problems with gas, i guess ill live with it one more year and do the woodstove. i have four acres out back adjoining woods, so i love the view. have deer, fox, coyote, owls hawks and i love when it snows. this is same reason i cant put doggie door in, get coons, possum, squirrels on deck all the time.

RE: any HVAC guys out there?

thanks guys, yes it is regular gas furnace. i do think the air would move around house enough. that would be same consideration if i put wood stove there.

RE: Anyone have experience with being on probation?

you dont say why he is on probation, but you would sure think having a job and being considered a good employee would be a big plus to his probation officer, you would think he(PO) would do something to minimize disruptions at work.

RE: any HVAC guys out there?

yes don, it says 28000 btu can heat up to 1000 sq ft. the unit im looking at has blower. there are also 2 doors to rest of house and i have ceiling fans in every room, so i am hoping it would basically heat whole house. if it works i am considering woodburner as well in a year or two, i have 4 acres, back two heavily wooded, my neighbor bought log splitter, he is going to start cutting firewood this fall, so he says he wcan keep me in firewood starting next year.

RE: any HVAC guys out there?

thanks for reply rvf, is your house super tight and insulated? cause mine is mediocre. plus normally, my house is super dry, as in getting static shock whenever i touch something.

any HVAC guys out there?

i have an idea i think i am going to do, would like an experts opinion if it is sound thinking, or am i stupid? my house is 1124 sq ft. the back room of the house is sort of a great room, 332 sq ft, back wall facing west(prevailing cold wind) consist of a french door and windows all the way across, side walls have three more windows and another door. this is the room i spend all my waking hours in, and needless to say is the coldest! i am a parapalegic and very cold natured, so to keep this room warm enough for me, i have to keep heat up pretty high. my furnace is 18 yo. trane(american standard) 80 percent efficiency. i want to buy this small gas stove, non vent 99 percent efficiency, 28,000 btu, and put in this room, only run it, when i am home and awake in this room, and keep regular furnace turned down pretty low. i dont expect miraculous savings, just want to be more comfortable without huge increase. our power company says be prepared for 10-50 percent increase in natural gas this winter. thanks in advance for any advice.

RE: Don’t buy State Farm RV insurance

while i personally like state farm, i think if you crossed out state farm in original post and put any other name in there, you would get identical response. insurance is one of those things, can't live with it, cant live without it!

RE: Sales Tax When There's A Trade-In

i dont trade cars, i sell, then buy, but i thought that was one benefit to trading(here in in.), that is a rawdeal in california! i have often thought it was bad deal that used cars get taxed, just think how much money states can get from one car! can you say TEA PARTY!

RE: HELP! downloading music-vista

when i am downloading, the boc comes up properly for windows media player, you can see the other songs listed in library, it fills in the spaces at bottom with the title, and you hit save, it exactly the way you download pictures and they always show up immediately in my pictures folder. its weird, or i am!

HELP! downloading music-vista

ok, so i am going digital, i bought a little cheap mp3 player to play with until i decide which one i really want. i have downloaded music, synced it to player, so no huge problem, but one little glitch i dont think is right. when i download a song, it says it is downloading to windows media player, but when i look, its not there! it is however on the little "my recent items list", i can click on it there, it will play, then it will show up in my library, what am i doing wrong, i meani am getting end result, but it just does not seem thats how it should working. any ideas?

RE: Social Security.....I hadnt heard of this before

i am on ss disability. when i got on it, the information pack you get explains exactly what the texan posted above. ss is a lot like insurance really, most people will collect more than they ever paid in, some people die before they collect a cent

RE: Is Workhorse Custom Chassis Losing Luster?

i dont have a dog in this race, i like my old technology p30, i know its not as efficient or as powerful as new technology, i know how to keep it on road without breakdowns. i spend way to much time on this forum reading and learning. it seems to me most people agree the workhorse handles better and has fantastic transmission. if you keep up with the "sticky" at top of class a forum on breakdowns, which i do, i have read every single post. you can email badeye and get his spreadsheet, which i have not done, but in reading, i feel that workhorse has many many more breakdowns. again, that is just my take, maybe spreadsheet would prove me wrong. one thing im pretty sure about, a great deal of breakdowns are "new tech" problems, sensors ecms yada yada on both gas and diesels.

RE: generator questions

well, i thought answer would be that i could not put in generator compartment, so my plan b is, my old class a has what basically looks like reciever hitches welded in frame rails, back bumper is mounted in these and can be pulled out up to about 3 feet, i would mount generator on these, but wouls still like to use gentur type device, could it not be permanent if mounted properly up rear of motorhome? that is if i could even extend exhaust, if i cant, no real big deal, just thought would be nice.

generator questions

1. i would like to have a 3000 watt super quiet gen, either honda, yamaha, or robins subaru. is there a way to extend exhaust if you wanted a type of permanent installation? 2. i have read posts about "genturi" or equivelent purchased or homemade, can these be used permanently?
